Americans started making jazz guitars in 1883. In 1920,
the L5 jazz guitar and F5 mandolin, developing and
constructing by Lloyd Loar, came of age and Gibson
entered a golden age of innovation. Lloyd Loar¡¯s
contribution to string instruments continues to go
recognized by many.
¡¡
Greg Rich, the custom shop manager of Gibson,
established the brand name - ¡°The Loar¡± which was
purchased by AXL in 2005 and started being manufactured
at the company¡¯s plant in China. AXL introduced a new
generation of ¡°The Loar¡± jazz guitar and mandolin,
combing expert craftsmanship and classic designs with
upgraded features, to today¡¯s players and caused a
sensation at 2008 NAMM show. During the Musikmesse
Frankfurt 2008, main importers were scrambling for the
exclusive dealership for ¡°The Loar¡±. The majority of
dealers comment the overall quality of these jazz guitar
and mandolin are fast approaching the U.S. quality
level. All customers give thumbs up for the excellent
sound of ¡°The Loar¡± products. |
